What is Staking ?

Staking in PoS, is the process of locking your assets to participate in the proof of stake network. You cannot use the locked assets such as sending and swapping. However, you participate in securing blockchain networks such as Nibiru Chain with $NIBI , earning rewards from inflation as well as network fees and participating in governance.

How to Staking Your $NIBI with genznodes ?

In this guide we use desktop devices and keplr extensions.

1. Preparation

Add Nibiru in Keplr

If you’ve added it before you can skip this step

Go to https://chains.keplr.app/ search for Nibiru , and Add click “Add to Keplr” making sure not to testnet chain.
Also make sure you have $NIBI if you don’t you can buy it. See below this article for the $NIBI market.

2. Go to Nibiru Web App

Connect wallet . Click on the top right corner
Choose your favorite wallet, we use keplr.

3. Find genznodes Validator

In the all validators menu click on search validator “genznodes”.

4. Delegate $NIBI

Click genznodes . And it will appear a modal
Click Stake
Enter the amount of $NIBI you want, making sure to leave some $NIBI for network fees.
And Click Stake >> Approve tx
Wait for a moment for the network to confirm that it is done and a pop-up will appear in the bottom corner.
Reload the page if the stake amount is still empty.
And congratulations on successfully staking $NIBI with genznodes!
